The United States government is working diligently to stifle free speech and innovation on behalf of their media mega corporation masters. They are looking for extended capabilities to shutdown "offending" sources of information by blacklisting websites, such as this one, by simply claiming that we are a proxy for content they claim they own. They are working hard to remove judicial oversight with another tool for them to use against artists and activists. The DMCA is already abused by these groups to silence their enemies, but for them it unfortunately contains previsions that allow the vigilant to force a judicial stand off they know they will lose.
Please check the following story at Slashdot here:
"Wednesday is here, and with it sites around the internet are going under temporary blackout to protest two pieces of legislation currently making their way through the U.S. Congress: the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) and the Protect-IP Act (PIPA). Wikipedia, reddit, the Free Software Foundation, Google, the Electronic Frontier Foundation, imgur, Mozilla, and many others have all made major changes to their sites or shut down altogether in protest. These sites, as well as technology experts (PDF) around the world and everyone here at Slashdot, think SOPA and PIPA pose unacceptable risks to freedom of speech and the uncensored nature of the internet..."
It also might be a good idea to be aware of one of my favorite organizations, the Electronic Fronteer Foundation.

Welcome to the new Guerrilla Republik website. We've added a new section to the site to replace other social websites you use for communicating Guerrilla Republik related subjects. We offer a site free from arbitrary censorship by unknown third parties, and a site that focuses on the individual's rights and privacy. We will not share any information with third parties in an effort to profit by selling you out. We will not blindly hand over information to government agencies, but will instead require that they meet the letter of the law in requesting such information. We wont change this policy without your consent, and only after we have explained what the changes are exactly to you.
We do have an acceptable use policy that is rather simple in it's design. This is an all ages site, and as such you cannot post anything harmful to a child such as explicitly sexual material in both written and photographic form. Making threats against another person or party can have legal repercussions for you, and while we wont actively police such we will not be a party to your crime. This is subject to change after the beta testing team has held conference to discuss this policy further.
You may notice that there is no way to sign up as a user. This was not an oversight on my part. Currently only those extremely active in Guerrilla Republik are being given accounts. Once they have decided to move to the next phase of testing the site will be opened to a wider audience of those active in Guerrilla Republik. Once the testing phase has been completed the social aspect of the site will be opened to the publik.
